Among Friends, established in 2023, is a social club for everyone. This is especially true for those of you who are interested in making new friends and building a sense of community. We’re aware that this is casting a really wide net. The width of the net is kind of the whole deal, actually.

All are welcome to join. Membership is free and in no way tied to where you’re from, what you do for work, or where you went to school. Not to diminish the importance of these things, of course. We just don’t see how they’d come into play when deciding whether you want to hang out with a person.

The club hosts regular events, but we really hope that you will meet up with other members independently of these events. Maybe that’s inviting a few other members to check out a new restaurant on a Thursday night. Maybe that’s setting up a recurring dinner party that different members can host each week. Maybe that’s pursuing professional networking opportunities. To be honest, that last one doesn’t sound as fun as the other options, but we’re not here to knock anyone’s hustle.

We’ve set up a Discord so it’ll be easy for you to interact with other members, including those you haven’t met yet. You can (and should) also let the membership know about upcoming events they might enjoy.

We hope that you won’t think of Among Friends as yet another social network, but rather a community. Specifically, a community that’s full of people who, like you, are looking for a new way to make connections. Why else would they have joined, right? If your membership in Among Friends leads you to form a real relationship with someone you wouldn’t have otherwise met, then we’ll have justified our existence.

You can also let us know if you have any suggestions, thoughts, concerns, etc. This is all pretty new, and though we have an idea of where we’d like to end up, that should ultimately be your call.
